Research front report
- To generate a research front report, click on TFGUI > Reports > Research Front.
- The report program will generate a document bib_report.rtf and place it in the project folder. The report can be opened in MS Word.
- The report contains summary information for each research front (RF). The RF numbers in the report correspond to the RF numbers on the timeline. The summary information for each RF includes the following items:
- List of papers Each paper in the RF is listed with its bibliographic information.
- Cited references A ranked list of references cited by the papers in the RF. The reference list has three columns: 1) number papers in the RF that cite the reference, 2) percentage of papers in the RF that cite the reference, and 3) the cited reference. If the reference is matched to a corresponding paper in the database, the title of that paper is also listed, otherwise a Paper not in database note appears.
- Paper authors A ranked list of paper authors in the RF is given. The paper author list has three columns: 1) number of papers in the RF in which the listed name is an author, 2) percentage of papers in the RF in which the listed name is an author, and 3) the listed author name.
- reference author A ranked list of reference authors cited by papers in the RF is given. The reference author list has three columns: 1) number of times the listed ref author was cited by papers in the RF. Since a papers can cite a reference author more than once, this number can exceed the number of papers in the RF, 2) the "percentage" of papers citing the ref author, this is simply the number of citations to the ref author divided by the number of papers, a number often larger than 100, and 3) the listed reference author.
- paper journal A ranked list of paper journals (source journals) in which paper in the RF were published. This list contains three columns: 1) the number of papers in the RF that were published in the listed journals, 2) the percentage of papers in the RF that were published in the listed journal and 3) the listed journal.
- reference journal A ranked list of journals that were cited by papers in the RF. This list contains three columns: 1) number of times the ref journal was cited by papers in the RF; since a journal can be cited more than once in a paper, this number can exceed the number of papers in the RF, 2) the "percentage" of papers in the RF citing the listed ref journal; this is simple the number of citations divided by the number of papers, 3) the listed reference journal.
- DE index terms A ranked list of DE terms associated with the papers in Rf. DE terms are author supplied index terms. There are three columns in the list: 1) number of papers in the RF associated with the listed term, 2) percentage of papers in the RF associated with the listed term, and 3) the listed term.
- ID index terms A ranked list of ID terms associated with the papers in Rf. ID terms are generated from titles by an ISI algorithm. There are three columns in the list: 1) number of papers in the RF associated with the listed term, 2) percentage of papers in the RF associated with the listed term, and 3) the listed term.
