Creating an ODBC link
Once you have set up a database and input the WOS data, you'll need to set up an ODBC link to your project database:
- In Windows go to Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools
- Select Data Sources (ODBC)
-
Select the System DSN tab.
Select Add, the Create New Data Source window will appear.
-
For Select a driver... select Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb)
-
For Data Source Name, type in an appropriate name for the project link.
-
Click the Database: Select button and navigate to the project database.
-
Select the project database, Select OK to close the Select Database window, then OK to close the ODBC Microsoft Access Setup window, and finally, OK to close the ODBC Data Source Administrator window.
-
You have now set up an ODBC link to your project database. The link has the name that you have given to it.
